In ancient China many Empire's rose to greatness. This is a fictional time from that period. When the land was in disarray and many factions fought for power.
The Emperor Taishi Ming was beloved by all the people of the land. None stood against him and none wished to. Until the day that the happy peace was shattered.
The Emperor had been speaking to his parliament, and a messenger appeared. The man told Taishi Ming that his Wife, Auburn Lotus had requested his company in the woods around the Emperial Capital. Taishi decided that no more work needed to be done that day so he dismissed the parliament and took off on his horse for the rendevous with his beloved. It was late in the afternoon when he saw his Empress's Carriage, he slowed to a mere trot as he approached and then dismounted behind the carriage.
"She will be asleep i have left her waiting for so long."[/i] He approached the door and opened it creeping in, Taishi drew back the ornate curtains to let the light fall on his wife's face. However when the curtains were opened, the carriage was empty. Starting to panic he stepped from the vehicle and looked around. His sharp hearing was all that saved him, he spun around letting the arrow that had been fired at his chest shoot through his cloak.
Three men appeared with hand axes in there hands. Taishi Ming knew that they were up to no good, but he had fought in skirmishes before and knew how to handle himself. Pushing his cloak behind him he jumped forward with a roundhouse kick to the neck of the first assailant. The man crumpled and his companions became more cautious, until one of the men attack the emperor.
The man ran at full pace towards the leader of china, throwing a punch at him. Taishi merely ducked and uppercutted the bandit in the stomach, then while rising he drew the axe from the mans hand. He lifted his foot high into the air slamming it down on the prone man's skull ending his life. In the same action he hurled the axe at the last man, it caught him in the shoulder and he fell to the ground with a scream.
The emperor heard a scream to his left and he whirled around, seeing his wife in the hands of another bandit. The bandit seemed unarmed and Taishi began to sprint at him. When Taishi Ming was within 10 metres of the bandit he began to ball his fist. However the Bandit reached back to pull a gun from behind him, Taishi couldn't stop in time and was caught full in the chest by the blast.
As she saw her husband get shot, Spring Lotus bit down on the mans hand freeing herself. She ran as fast as she could into the woods. She heard another gunshot and ducked lower, and kept running. Meanwhile Tashi Ming, the beloved emperor of china, was on the ground, his chest heaving, beyond repair, from the gun fire. His assailant walked over to his shuddering body. "All hail the Emperor, in his final moments."[/i] The man then pulled out a smaller gun, pointed it down at the man who had lead China to a time of peace, and pulled the trigger. The shot echoed for miles and somewhere in the forest, the mastermind of the assasination was listening...
After this event the land was plunged into turmoil, houses grew to contend for the seat of Emperor. Alliances were born, broken and destroyed in single days, and people lived in fear from the demons, bandits and phantoms that plagued the country side. It is a dark time, where anyone can become a hero...
