There are several styles of gung fu which try to imitate animals' behaviors, such as tiger, snake, crane, monkey, mantis, dragon, and leopard. These are then broken down into several behavioral patterns of the same animal. For instance, monkey is broken down into stone, lost, standing, wooden, and drunken monkey styles. Please note that drunken monkey style is NOT the same as drunken boxing, and THE TECHNIQUE WILL NOT IMPROVE WITH THE CONSUPTION OF ALCHOHOL. The name of this came from the behavior of a monkey that stole saki and got drunk.....not from drunkards who acted like monkeys whilst fighting. Well, back to my main point......I believe you should add these as they were some of the more mainstream styles of ancient martial arts, and I believe they deserve some representation in a forum based on ancient martial arts. I can link you to several websites which provide quite accurate descriptions of almost every one of these styles, and I don't believe they would be difficult to represent. www.shaolin-society.co.uk/Animal_Styles/animal_styles.phpwww.mackido.com/MartialArts/Glossary_Arts.htmlwww.urbin.net/EWW/MA/KEMPO/animals.htmlAlso try youtube for demonstrations of some of these styles. Edit: I read the post about format now, so if you would like to add any of these styles, just reply or PM me, and I'll format each of them bueaucrat style for you.
